Afghan Saffron from Herat
A distinctive origin, a careful harvest, and a product valued for its colour, aroma and character.
Klasyo sources Afghan saffron through trusted partners in Herat, one of Afghanistan’s best-known saffron-producing regions. Our aim is to connect this origin with customers in the UK and international markets through clear provenance, dependable service and a strong focus on quality.

THE ORIGIN
From Herat, Afghanistan
Herat has become an important centre of saffron cultivation in Afghanistan, where the crop is harvested by hand during a short flowering season. The valuable part of the flower is remarkably small: three red stigmas that are carefully separated and dried to produce saffron. This labour-intensive process is one of the reasons saffron has been valued for centuries.
For Klasyo, understanding where the saffron comes from and who we work with at origin is an important part of building a dependable supply.

THE SAFFRON
Small Threads, Distinctive Character
Whether you are buying for home use or exploring a larger business requirement, we want the product itself to remain simple to understand.
Saffron is valued for the colour, aroma and flavour released by its dried red threads. A small amount can transform a dish, which is why it has been used across different cuisines and traditions for centuries.
The quality of saffron can vary depending on origin, handling and processing. For Klasyo, the priority is to work with trusted partners and present saffron with clear information about where it comes from and how it reaches our customers.
